Somewhere, in an underground bunker, on a ruined world. . .
The lights on the Stargate lit up one by one as the inner track started to spin, establishing an in-comming wormhole as the kwoosh! exploded outwards; a dim glow in an otherwise dark & ruined room.
Through the 'gate stepped a team of five individuals, dressed in the military-style clothing of the Nazi regime of World War II-era Earth; looking about them cautiously as they did so, weapons aimed & ready to fight at a moment's notice. Turning back to their commander, they addressed the leader of the expidition as the Stargate deactived, plundging them back into near darkness, forcing them to activate the torches they had brought with them.
"We appear to be in some sort of underground facility, Sir. It looks like a great war was fought here; judging from the devistation in this room alone"
"We shall see" Their commander replied, "Spread out & examine the ruins for any survivors, or anything of value. If we are to expand the Reich & spread Origin to the farthest corners of the galaxy; we must seek out new technologies & resources with which to ensure our victory"
So saying, his team spread out, searching every room of the underground complex that they could gain access to; meeting back at the Stargate some time later.
"Report" Their commander stated flatly, "The Fuhrer excepts results; & I should not like to keep him waiting"
"As we feared, our initial suspicions were correct : this underground complex has been ravaged, not just by the passing of time, but also by war. From what we can tell, it is completely cut off from the surface - maybe some great catacylism we are not aware of yet - & many sections are caved in with rubble & debris; but the few structures still intact show great signs of a technologically-advanced civilization. From what we can establish, their technology is at least equal that - if not greater than - the Goa'uuld"
"You refer to the species we banished from Himmel when we established the colony for the Reich?"
"Yes, Commander" Came the reply, "The technology that still remains here suggests they were just as advanced, although I see no evidence of space-capable vessels"
"A pity" His commander replied, "We could do with more spacecraft : continue"
"We also found what appears to the remnants of a computer system & a mass storage era where a great many bodies were kept in some kind of status, or hibernation; but they all appear to be deceased"
"What a shame, we could of questioned them about what happened here; but it looks like as if we're going to have to investigate what happened here the old fashioned way" The commander replied, "Anything else you wish to report before I send my recommendations back to the colony?"
"We found this laying nearby, in a nearby corridor" The scientist replied, holding up a set of broken crystals, looking like a jagged christmas tree. "Given our experience with the Goa'uuld & the technology we procured when we captured Himmel for the Fatherland, I think it might be some sort of storage device or power source"
"Interesting, I will take this back to Himmel for further study; in the meantime, you are to stay here & try & gain access to the computer database you mentioned. I also wanted detailed accounts of any technologies or other points of interest you may find"
"As you wish, Commander"
"Sergent" The commander said, issuing an order to the officer standing next to the team's military scientist, "Dial Himmel"
"Yes, Sir"
So saying, they dialed back to Himmel; the wormhole establishing itself before the Commander & the Sergent left, returning to the world from whence they came.
Himmel, an hour later :
The commander stood in front of the new Fuhrer of the Reich as he gave his report the colony's leader & new head of the Governing Council.
"What do you have to report?" Hans Schriek, the colony's commander-in-chief & self-appointed Fuhrer of the last know remnant of Nazi Germany said, raising his head from his desk; having been going through various military documents before being interrupted by the commander of the latest off-world mission through the Stargate.
"The world we visited seems to be devistated by war. We did not have access to the surface, the Stargate was kept underground in some sort of bunker; blocked off from the surface" The commander replied matter-of-factly; he knew the Fuhrer liked to get straight to the heart of things, especially when concerned for the good of the colony & the people he governed.
"You think the surface of this world is unihabitable?"
"From what little we have seen thusfar, it would appear so, mine Fuhrer"
"A pity, we could of used a new base-of-operations. I guess we will have to scratch that world off our list of possible expansion sites for the Empire" Hans frowned, not pleased wit hwhat he was hearing thusfar. "Did you find anything else?"
"Although the surface seems unaccessable &/or uninhabitable, we did find remnants of an advanced civilization to rival that of the Goa'uuld" The commander replied, "My team is still on-site, gather possible intelligence which may yet prove useful to our cause"
"Continue with your efforts then" Hans replied, "We may yet glean something useful amidst the ruins of this lost civilization"
"How goes the campaign to take Lira-Ke?"
"The army should be ready soon, & the technology the Prior has provided us should us in good stead to claim Lira-Ke for the empire & the Orii" Hans replied.
"We also found this in a corridor adjacent to the room where the Stargate was located" The commander said, showing Hans the broken artefact as he laid it on the tabel in front of his leader.
It was, for the most part, entact : the main crystaline structure was mostly still there, although several larger pieces laid next to it, needing to be replaced, like peices of a puzzle.
"What is it?"
"Near so far the best we can tell, it is either a power source, or some sort of data storage device"
"It reminds me of the crystal technology used by the Goa'uuld when they occupied Himmel, before we liberated it for the Reich" Hans replied, "Our understanding of their technology is still limited; but if this device is similar, it may still yet be useful to us"
"Couldn't the Prior take a look at, surely he would know how best to repair the device so we could learn it's secrets?"
"I have seen the Prior perform many miracles on behalf of the Orii" Hans replied, "I will see what he can make of this; if anyone can, it is he"
Later on that day, in Hans Schirek's offices. . .
Hans Schriek, Fuhrer of the Reich & Governor of the Nazi colony on Himmel looked out the window overlloking the main courtyard of Himmel's captial, Nueberlin, watching the colonist go about their business as they made their way to & frow; the Ara - the sacrifical altar where heretics & other trouble-makers were burnt alive in a diplay of Nazi superiority & tribute to the Orii - standing out clearly in the afternoon light, a pleasant breeze wafting in the window from the world out, calling out as the door to his private chambers opened to admit his latest visitor.
"Hallowed are the Orii" Hans intoned, with all the conviction of a true believer.
"Hallowed are the Orii" The Prior replied as he walked into the room, the doors closing as if by magic behind him; a smile comming to his lips. "You & your people do the Orii proud, Hans Schriek"
"It is I whom should be thanking you" Hans replied, turning to greet the Prior & gesturing to the seat in front of his desk. "If it were not for you, I would not be in the position I am now, & we would still be living in ignorence, blind by evil from the truth that is Origin"
Hans took his own seat behind his desk as the Prior took the proffered seat, nodding to Hans.
"The Orii are all-seeing & all-knowing, you were chosne for this task; to lead your people to greatness & spread the word of Origin to all unbelievers"
"With the knowledge & technology you have provided us, we shall conquer the galaxy & help spread the word of Origin to all those whom embrace evil. The Orii's divine light shall wash away the darkness & a new golden age of Nazi rule & reverence for the Orii shall blanket the galaxy" Hans replied, honestly believing in the words he was saying, "We are almost ready to begin our assault on the world of Lira-Ke; & with your help, we shall soon add many more worlds to the Reich"
"You have requested I come here?" The Prior replied, getting to the point. Hans liked that.
"Yes" Hans replied, showing the Prior the broken crystalline artefact accquired from their recent off-world mission.
"We found this on one of the worlds we were surveying to add to the empire; what do you make of it?"
"It is not of the Orii, & should cause you no concern. Destroy it"
"It comes from a world already laid in ruins. Their technology seems advanced - although not as advanced as the technology you have provided us with - & it may be useful in furthering our goals" Hans replied, "Is it not right that we use the technology of the unbelivers against them? Surely it is only just that they be undone by the very means by which they hide from the true path?"
"Your words hold a grain of truth to them" The Prior replied, "I shall do as you request"
The Prior stood, raising his staff over the artefact as a warm, white glow suffused the room; & when it faded, the device was once again whole, just as good as it was the day it had been manufactured.
Calling in a gaurd from outside, Hans carefully & lovingly place the restored artefact into the gaurd's hands.
"Be careful with that, it may yet proove useful to [i[Reich[/i]" hans stated, giving the gaurd a 'do your job properly or you'll pay dearly' kind of look. "Take this to the labs & have our scientists see what they can find"
So saying, the gaurd went about his task with all the rutheless effenecy that the Nazi's were known for.
"Now" Hans replied as his subordinate left, "Back to business. . ."
Several days later. . .
"Is this all the technology procured from the planet?" Hans asked, surveying the room full of artefacts from one of the Nazi Stargate Program's leastest off-world missions.
"Yes, mine Fuhrer" The lead scientist replied, checking something off a list as he compaired artefacts to one another; military personnel & numerous scientist hustling about him like ants. "We have finished translating the data stored in the crystalline artefact; which seems to contain all of their technological knowledge, schemtics, plans, designs & the like"
"Very good" Hans replied, "What did you say the name of this civilization was?"
"Eurdona" The scientist replied, "From what we have gathered from what little information we could extract from the remnants of the computer system left on Eurona itself - the planet we visited - they seemed to be alot like us, ideologically & culturally speaking. It seems they died trying to wipe out the impure & genetically inferior members of their culture. In the end, the war to win back their planet from their inferior enemy seemed to drag on too long, & they paid the price for it"
"A great pity; they would have made powerful allies"
"Agreed" The scientist agreed, "Unfrtounately, their legacy may yet live on. We have gleaned much from the crystalline storage device brought back from Euronda, including schemtics & designs for many different technologies, one of which appears to be some sort of unmanned fighter craft"
"Interesting" Hans replied. "We best put this knowledge to use then; no sense in letting our belated friends' accomplishments go to waste. We being immediately, I want to put this new data to use by the time we take Lira-Ke"
"As you wish, Fuhrer" The scientist replied, going back to his work.
"Eurdona" Hans said, almost to himself, "I wonder what became of it's people?"
Reaching down to touch one of the ruined artefacts brought back from Euronda, he admired the gleaming curves & eligent design; even covered in dirt & grim, it was still a marvel to behold.
"Fear not, brave friends; your legacy will live on. . ."
