In-Character (IC) posts (about a Player's Character interacting within the Stargate RPG & greater STARGATE universe) are generally set in the present day (i.e.: right now, in real terms); in keeping with the current season(s) / episodes of the Stargate movies & seasons airing on T.V. at any given moment (N.B.: The overall progress of the RPG is set to the airing schedule of Australian television & the current world-wide movie-release schedule, not U.S. Syndication).
In terms of the movies / series, this means that the vast majority for posts are set after Season 10 of SG-1, Season 5 of Atlantis & Season 2 of STARGATE: Universe, as well as after STARGATE SG-1: The Ark of Truth, STARGATE: Continuum. The current year In-Character is 2014, picking up approximately three (3) years after the conclusion of STARGATE: Universe (Season 2) as Destiny completes it's Faster-Than-Light (FTL) jump into a new, as-yet-unexplored galaxy on the far side of universe.
Other posts may be set before, or during these periods (e.g.: Lira-Kai by Player Akren Garkos) - these posts will have the time period in which they are set (qouting episode(s) / season(s), if available), to save confusion.
Think of these posts as 'lost episodes' which take place using characters that work at, or with, the SGC & it's allies, but are not seen in the day-to-day adventures of SG-1 or Altantis on T.V.
In a way, these 'lost' or 'unseen' episodes / posts are stories which are told like the comics / books : they take place in the STARGATE universe as established by TPTB, but were 'untold' until now.
