Queen mother of all Tok'ra symbiotes, believed to have been destroyed by the Supreme System Lord Ra some 2,000 years ago; Egeria literally spawned the Tok'Ra movement.
Egeria's last whereabouts were on the world of Pangar, once occupied by Ra's army as a base of operations. Here, Egeria fought Ra, & legend says he destroyed her. However, Pangaran tomb texts described her as buried alive. It was later discovered the Pangarans had located her stasis jar &, for 50 years, experimented on her & her offspring.
Realizing what they had done, the Pangarans released Egeria, albeit unexpectedly, where she took the host body of the Tok'Ra Kelmaa to communicate with the Pangaran Dollen. Egeria had been poisoning her young, making them essentially vegetables, because she believed once the Pangarans had discovered the flaws in the experiments, they would give up. This is not what happened, & they consequently derived a substance from her offspring that became tretonin.
Egeria, finally free, discovered what the Tok'ra had become after thousands of years, & as her first act, saved the Pangarans from the inbred defect, restoring them all to health. Since that time, Egeria has been busy replensihing the Tok'Ra ranks (including spawning two new Queen Tok'Ra) & aquinting herself with an ever-changing galaxy.
Many of her newly-spawned offspring have gone on to blend with other species - including Tau'ri, Tollan, & other races - & thanks to a historic deal brokered with the Free Jaffa Nation; those Jaffa whom cannot or will not take tretonin now incubate her young instead of larval Goa'uuld, forming a truely special bond that has slowly evolved into a lasting partnership; endearing her to the Jaffa & the Tok'Ra's other allies as they continue to find their way in an ever-changing galaxy of fresh challeneges & new oppertunities.
